Louis Vuitton Launches Futuristic Capsule Footwear Collection ‘Rain’

Goddess of fashion and expert in ‘not releasing an album’ Rihanna once said “fashion is pain”, but times are changing. The era of uncomfortable and unpractical luxury is coming to an end and brands are more and more focussing on being useful and functional. The latest brand to join the trend is Louis Vuitton with a ‘Rain’ capsule collection.

Rain capsule collection

Louis Vuitton’s latest footwear capsule collection is waterproof, 100% rubber, and designed — as its name suggests — for walking in the rain. It takes inspiration from iconic styles developed by Nicolas Ghesquière: the Silhouette ankle boot (and its signature flower heel that echoes the shape of the Monogram flower), the LV Archlight, a hybrid and modern sneaker with an oversized sole and  the Rhapsody ankle boot inspired by the world of bikers with its harness and horseshoe buckle at the ankle.

As though “dipped in paint”, each style is crafted down to the smallest detail in waterproof rubber, with a matte or varnished finish and is awash with color. The rain proof shoe collection embraces femininity in movement, with a multi-faceted selection.

The collection will be launched on the 17th of January.
