About the desert getaways: Kingfisher and Al Faya Lodge
The Kingfisher Lodge, situated in the protected Mangrove area of Kalba, exists of twenty luxurious tented suites with a private plunge pool per suit.
It’s one of those resorts we’ve had to put on our must-visit list. Especially after having seen the beautiful desert landscape and pure beaches neighboring the resort, and pictures of the boat trips. Like any other well-respected desert getaway, Kingfisher Lodge has a cozy campfire.
One hour from there, in Mleiha, is the Al Faya lodge located next to one of the UAE’s first petroleum pumps.
Being equipped with just five rooms, an open-air saltwater pool and a one-of-a-kind spa, its contemporary stone buildings established in 2019 rise out of the enchanting dunes surrounding it. Home to ancient civilizations and cultures, on this desert getaway you can explore the Ancient Bedouin culture.
