Mark Ronson Lets Girls Rule On His New Album ‘Late Night Feelings’

The amount of hits that were written, produced and released by the legendary Mark Ronson can’t even be counted on two hands. The British-American producer has changed the music scene like no other producer did in the past two decades and has given us wonderful songs. “Valerie” with Amy Winehouse, “Uptown Funk” with Bruno Mars or most recently “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart” with Miley Cyrus, these hits didn’t only storm the charts but are songs that will last for a long, long time.

His last album Uptown Special dates from 2015, but Ronson has been pretty busy in those four years. He worked on Lady Gaga’s album Joanne, wrote songs with Adele, Dua Lipa, Lily Allen and Miley Cyrus and co-wrote Gaga’s legendary A Star Is Born-song “Shallow”. Alongside all the giant projects, he has been secretly working on his fifth studio album Late Night Feelings, which might be his best yet…

Miley, Camila, Lykke, Alicia, …

Late Night Feelings isn’t only a special album because of the very high quality of songs on the album, but also impressed us with a long list of collaborations. With Miley Cyrus, Camila Cabello, Lykke Li or Alicia Keys, Ronson convinced a beautiful mix of pop superstars to be part of the album, but he also made sure he’s giving upcoming artists the chance to shine on a major album. YEBBA for example, has already won a Grammy, but isn’t well-known by the big audience. Her three songs on the album can and will absolutely change that for sure.

Another great artist you can discover on the album is the New York-based singer King Princess. She is currently one of the biggest and most hyped upcoming pop singers of the moment and surely knows how to convince everyone on “Pieces Of Us”. The mix of chosen acts on the album is without a doubt interesting. We could have never imagined that an indie rock-star like Angel Olsen would sound so effortlessly between all these other female pop-acts, especially since her music is not very similar to any of the other singers that are featured on the album.

Tell’em, Ladies!

For the first time in his career, Mark Ronson decided to exclusively work with female artists for his new album and we love the result. Not only musically, but especially moral-wise, this album is breaking boundaries by embracing the power of estrogen. Late Night Feelings gets us in our feelings and that’s exactly what we expected from Ronson. Some more songs with interesting upcoming acts and maybe a little more plot twists, would’ve made the album slightly more interesting, but we can’t deny the relevancy of the album. Tell’em, Ladies!
