Meet Gimic: Brussels’ Newest Web Radio and Creative Space for the Electronic Music Scene

A new player is about to make waves in the heart of Brussels, tucked away in the eclectic Marolles neighborhood. Gimic, the city’s freshest web radio bar, officially launching on September 29, 2024, is about pushing boundaries.

Gimic is here to amplify the underground electronic scene, giving it a home that’s as raw and authentic as the music it celebrates.

A Space for the Bold

Gimic isn’t just a radio station—it’s a cultural epicenter. With a sleekly renovated space on Rue des Renards 9, this 120-square-meter venue has been transformed by passionate volunteers into a creative playground. Think bar, a sun-soaked terrace, a DJ booth facing a cobblestone pedestrian street, and a meeting space for talks and workshops. It’s the kind of spot where you go for the music but stay for the conversations.

Monthly Madness

Gimic’s lineup? Pure fire. They’re bringing in 120 DJs every month, spinning live every from Wednesday to Sunday, from 2 PM to 10 PM. With over 50 resident DJs calling Gimic home, you can expect a pulse on the Brussels underground like nowhere else. Newcomers get a stage too. Gimic’s residents will be handpicking and showcasing fresh talent, giving the city’s rising stars a space to shine.

More Than Music

But here’s where Gimic gets even more interesting. It’s not just about the beats—it’s about the bigger conversation. Electronic music is a culture, a movement, and Gimic knows it’s also a space for debate and reflection. Through its talks, podcasts, and workshops, the venue will spark essential conversations around the music industry, pushing the scene forward while addressing the realities faced by artists, dancers, promoters, and everyone in between.

Gimic is opening on September 29 from 2 pm for a broadcast of eight consecutive hours with only B2B sets between the many residents. Follow Gimic on Instagram for more info.
