These Menswear Trends Will Be Big in 2018

No need to be resentful towards the past, because history repeats itself all the time. Just like in fashion, certain style trends will not leave our landscape that easily. The return of the Buffalos is a perfect example of that statement. Given the fw18 silhouettes we spotted on our Pinterest feed, it seems like some trends are coming back in a big way, literally. From Louis Vuitton, Y/Project to Pigalle and Vetements, take a look at how these fashion brands are reviving menswear trends to make them big in 2018.

Neon yellow

The frozen yellow (or neon yellow) shade is making a comeback! Two of our favorite brands already started planting the seed: Louis Vuitton and Juun J. But also a bunch of other brands got the ‘Neon Yellow’ memo. However, these FW18 silhouettes got us excited for brighter future seasons.

Fuchsia pink

Pigalle amazed us with a very rare show and collection. Instead of staying in the bubblegum pink and baby blue vibe, Stéphane Ashpool reinstated fuchsia pink. There’s something we really appreciated about his body of work!

Baseball Gear

Wearing the athleisure trend has never been cooler than in 2018. By the looks of it, in fall 2018 menswear will be hitting the baseball courts. Facetasm’s fall-winter ’18 collection is a perfect example of how to give your old-school jersey shirts and varsity jackets another shot.

Sherpa jacket

For as long as we exist, sherpa jackets were always a style staple for men and we have become accustomed to it. Especially throughout fall and winter. Let’s applaud Y/Project and Facetasm for successfully remodeling a timeless garment into an interesting piece. Something Levi’s should consider doing because the regular sherpa fit is getting dull.

The trench revisited

Every season the trench coat gets a new look. In the future, trenchcoats will be worn inside out, layered with another see-through coat or unexpectedly mixed with a printed top. Anyway, old habits won’t be applicable here. So take a look at how Martin Margiela and Vetements are bringing the trend.

Puffer jackets (again)

The puffer had many triumphant moments in 2017. If you look around you, almost every collection now has a puffer jacket. Being resurrected from the 90s, this major style staple will continue to be successful. But only puffier, longer and with an extra touch. Take Martin Margiela for instance, he added shearling details. While Y/Project plans on puffing the puffer even more by applying outerwear technology.
