For this year’s Air Max Day, Nike isn’t just releasing new sneakers, but the mega brand is also looking back at the evolution of the iconic sneaker. It is taking us from the Air Max 90 all the way up to today’s debut of the Air Max 2090.

The 24-minute-long documentary gives us a behind-the-scenes look into the making of the new Air Max 2090. Borrowing design cues from the Air Max 90 as it celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. As the film progresses, a panel of designers, artists and cultural icons explore the impact the design has had on sneaker cultures across the globe.
