PHOTOS: A Look In- And Outside a Hidden Airbnb Gem Near Cape Town

You know that feeling when you find an Airbnb that almost seems too good to be true, and then it is as good as you hoped? The following Airbnb near Cape Town in Noordhoek, named Kinghorns Gardens, is exactly that.

When planning my 2-week trip to Cape Town, I added a few days of calm and peace before returning to reality. Airbnb had been my go-to place to rent cute apartments in the city, but I was surprised also to find gems like this house on the app; a luxury retreat, completely private guest house with the most amazing garden.

Garden

With a capacity of four people, divided over two bedrooms, the house is situated in the idyllic Cape Town suburb of Noordhoek located on the picturesque Cape Peninsula. One of its unique selling points is its 8200 square meters garden filled with the most beautiful flowers, a farm-style dam, hundreds of herbs, and more. It features an enormous biodiversity of indigenous Protea, flowers, forests, grasses, rock gardens, picnic lawn areas as well as large olive orchards and lots of beautiful Mediterranean planting. The garden also features a swimming pool, sunset deck, sauna with a view over the garden, two outdoor showers, and places to have lunch.

The eco-friendly house is designed to minimize carbon emissions and maximize recycling. A water filtration system allows an unlimited supply of filtered fresh water and bridges Cape Town’s water shortages.

Trips

Another good thing about the Kinghorns Gardens Airbnb is its location. Noordhoek is located below the impressive Chapman’s Peak and close to cute seaside spots such as Kommetjie, Fish Hoek, and more. It’s also very close to the Table Mountain National Park and the Silvermine Nature Reserve. On a good day, you’ll be able to spot some whales roaming close to the beaches. Chapman’s Peak Drive is just one of the places you will often see whales, especially between June and November.

If you decide not to have dinner at the house’s gorgeous sunset deck, there are a few cute restaurant options at Noordhoek Farm Village, just hundreds of meters away.
