Premiere: Earl Elliot’s Music Video for ‘Freeway 2006’ Takes Us on a Wild Ride

The Antwerp-born but Amsterdam-based singer-songwriter Earl Elliot wants to reflect the duality between a European upbringing and growing up on American pop culture in his music by telling inspiring coming-of-age stories. Visuals have an important role in his storytelling and always bring his poetic lyrics to life. Since we truly enjoyed his last video for “Training For A Marathon”, we’re very happy that we get to exclusively premiere his newest short movie.

The nostalgic and melancholic vibe of his music was translated beautifully into his new music video for his “Freeway 2006” release, which consists of two songs. “Pt. 1” centers his self-doubts about navigating through adulthood, while “Freeway (2006)” attempts to look back at the good parts and tries to find comfort with it.

Road to FREEdom

The music video directed by Jeroen Kooistra visualizes four friends that want to escape the responsibilities of becoming an adult by going on a spontaneous trip. Their road trip starts at night in a city but ends in a wide, green landscape where they just have fun. The video sees the four young men letting go of all the pressure and just enjoying the moment like they used to do when they were little. Coming-of-age at its best!
