Premiere: Raven Artson Breaks Free in Music Video for ‘Locks For You’

Hailing from the south of The Netherlands, Raven Artson (aka Raven Aartsen) has already made it big with support from BBC One, Dazed, and Wonderland (just to name a few). He only started releasing music in 2019 but already has three EPs to his name, the latest being ‘Peak In Me’, which came out in April. One of those songs on his newest EP was “Locks For You”, which Artson has made into a music video that we’re proud to be premiering.

Describing his own sound as “slow-motion hyper-pop”, Raven Artson made a 10-track banger EP with a diverse range of genres. For “Locks For You”, Artson went the dreamy route and sang about breaking free from what’s holding him back.

Ethereal Escape

His song “Locks For You” is best described as idyllic pop that makes you float away to ethereal places. That same feeling is conveyed in the opening of his music video when we see Artson in an ethereal setting before diving into his mind with a bit more color and drama. A natural progression shifts to the American singer True Blue, who features on the track. Her dreamy vocals fit the song and Artson’s vocals perfectly. The song comes to end with Artson finally breaking free from what held him back both lyrically and visually with a beautiful outro.
