Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh Named Artistic Directors of Nina Ricci

It’s only been a year since Rushemy Botter graduated from the Antwerp Fashion Academy, but the designer and his partner in crime Lisi Herrebrugh have already made some waves in the fashion industry. The latest one is quite impressive. The Dutch design duo is named as creative directors of the Puig group-owned Nina Ricci.

The two Enfnts Terribles favorites, who recently won the Première Vision Grand Prize at Hyères Festival and got into the final of the 2018 LVMH Prize for Young Designers, were selected by Puig to bring “a big dose of coolness” to the brand.

From Antwerp to Paris

“We were looking for someone unique,” said José Manuel Albesa, president of brands, markets and operations at Puig, to WWD. “They did some sketches to show their vision for the brand, and I was really amazed because it was not an evolution, it was a revolution.” He went on by saying that “They have this kind of Caribbean joie de vivre. It’s very appropriate for the brand, and it’s extremely appropriate for the times.”

The position of joint artistic directors is effective immediately and it’s bringing some changes to the duo’s own brand as well. The two will be relocating their menswear brand Botter from Antwerp to Paris in September. Their first collection for Nina Ricci will be shown in March during the Fall/Winter 2019 shows in Paris.

“We feel very inspired by the fresh, feminine and subtle codes that make Nina Ricci such a beautiful ode to femininity,” the designers commented. “We aim to create a new spirit, a spirit of our times, effortless yet sophisticated, strong yet positive.”

We can’t wait to see what Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh are going to do with Nina Ricci, but we’re sure it will be as good as everything they did before. The Enfnts Terribles team wishes them the best of luck!
