The Stand Out Bags to Wear in 2019

From the Pre-Fall 2019 runways to our favorite online stores and the streets, get a hold of the stand out bags in order to upgrade your wardrobes.

The belt pouch

The Alyx belt pouch might look familiar, it has been worn by our favorite street style stars during fashion week. We also discovered SAM, a new Belgian label, that launched in December 2018, producing leather accessories for men and women. Each piece is adaptable and can be styled as desired.

Like any other contemporary accessory, the belt pouch is made to complement your look of the day. If you’re looking for an avant-garde side bag that is functional and aesthetically on point, check out our suggestions.

The Chest Rig by Alyx

This avant-garde bag designed by Matthew M. Williams is a must because of its functionality and stand out aesthetic. The zippered compartments keep all your essentials of the day together in one bag. Plus, it’s a good accessory to finalize your look du jour.

Tote Bags 2.0

As you know, most tote bags are made out of cotton. You can also get them for free in some places. However, this it-item is slowly but surely becoming an iconic fashion essential. In order to take it to the next level, many brands released their version of the simple tote bag. They are switching the cotton with a sexier fabric like PVC or tarp. For instance, Adder Error replaced the more than average tote bag handle with an adjustable shoulder strap and added a rubberized logo patch. Comme des Garçons’ PVC tote featuring multicolor graphics has a coated textile inner compartment.

The Margiela 3-in-1 Pouch

Usually, a lot of men don’t like the pouch because you can’t put enough in it. Even though they come in big sizes, it’s still unhandy and unnatural to some to wear a pouch to a party or to work. However, Maison Margiela’s version of a pouch is impressive. They made a nylon pouch crafted in Italy existing of 3 pieces with an external press-stud fastening, meaning that it can be worn together or carried separately.

Dior’s Saddle bag and more

There’s no need to introduce Dior’s Saddle bag. Since its debut it has been spotted on almost everyone. Up till now, the first version of the Saddle bag was on our wish lists. However, when we saw the new ones during Dior’s Pre-Fall 2019 show in Tokyo it was as if time stopped. We were struck by another very expensive dilemma. To invest or not to invest in this piece?

After seeing how many various colors, fabrics and sizes the Saddle bag was created, we think we’re going to wait for the perfect one. Plus, not only the Saddle bag took our attention, but also their petite print cross body bags and sophisticated messenger bags.

Stand Out Bags:

The contemporary cross-body

Call it however you want, a fanny pack, bum bag or cross body bag, but this accessory is fitted to withstand your daily wear and throughout the last decade, its look has changed for the better. It comes in contemporary shapes and it’s also worn differently now.

As Paul Smith made a cross-body bag shaped like a mini-backpack with one shoulder strap, Jil Sander surprised us with their Tube bag. Have a look at the contemporary cross-body bags out there.

New school bags

It seems like men have more diversity in their accessories. It’s delighting to see the new bags the fashion houses designed for 2019. But we do believe that you have to be at very specific brands to find a bag that screams fashion-forward. Like the double buckle bag from Alexander Wang or this new school messenger bag from Rick Owens.
