1. Orchid — Gorgeous!

A robbery during a road trip, leaving Orchid in a satin dress with her purse, some money, and lip gloss lies at the heart of the new “Gorgeous!”. The single made the British-Iranian artist embrace her femininity more than ever. The production, by Frank Colucci (a.k.a. Rose Gray), is clearly inspired by the Europop classics of about two decades ago. At the same time, it has been given a modern twist giving Orchid the spotlight, and she knows perfectly well how to use her voice on the beats. “Gorgeous!” is a song made for the dance floor, perfectly transposing the current Y2K trend.

2. Janelle Monáe — Lipstick Lover

Janelle Monáe does not get enough credit for the monumental music they have been sharing with the world. With albums like Dirty Computer, the American singer-rapper-actor has created some amazing pieces. Along with the release of “Lipstick Lover”, the global star now announces their new album, The Age of Pleasure, and shows that they are still among the most influential artists in the world by playing with reggae influences.

3. eugene and neophron — Quitter la ville

For his new single “Quitter la ville,” Brusseler eugene collaborated with his friend and up-and-coming producer neophron. On this single, the French-language hyperpop is also akin to Bladee and Ecco2k but has a different nuance due to the French lyrics. Along with the production itself, the voice shaper is the main ingredient of this song, adding to the sentimental nostalgia of the lyrics. His innovative sound comes into its own on “Quitter la ville” and has a particularly catchy character.

4. Froukje — Naar het licht

Dutch singer Froukje is among the most popular Dutch-speaking singers, who also exudes an international allure thanks to her strong pop song. On “Naar het licht,” she plays between serenity and grandiosity, with the summery melody quickly creating an upbeat atmosphere. Even for those who do not understand the language, it is clear that Froukje is a fantastic artist.

5. Témé Tan — TNMCP

Summer is really lurking around the corner now with increasingly beautiful weather on the horizon, and with Belgian singer Témé Tan’s comeback single, summer can’t start soon enough. “TNMCP” is his first proper single since his 2017 debut album, with which he toured the world, and lives off the energetic production from the hand of Le Motel. The clubby influences and Southern elements make this single a more than successful return.

6. Nothing But Thieves — Overcome

British band Nothing But Thieves are known for their emotion-driven rock songs, with frontman Conor Mason’s voice reaching you within the depths of your soul every time. After the cool “Welcome to the DCC”, they now come out with the more sentimental “Overcome”. With its melancholic rock, this song manages to touch us in unexpected ways. Nothing But Thieves are nothing but heartthrobs.

7. AlienBlaze & OmenXIII — Lovesick

With her blend of alternative pop music, grunge, and emo, British 20-year-old singer AlienBlaze is among the most exciting new artists we learned about this week. Joined by American OmenXIII, she shakes off her heartbreak on “Lovesick” and delivers an anthem of brilliance. It lingers, sounds refreshing, and shows that she still has a lot up her sleeve.

8. Niia — Alfa Romeo

Vroom vroom, bitches! American artist Niia is picking you up in her “Alfa Romeo” for a mad dash to announce her new album, Bobby Deerfield. The phenomenal vintage vibe of the single picks up momentum as the song progresses and immediately drives itself into your memory. “Alfa Romeo” is a fantastic single full of elegance and coolness, like the car brand itself.

9. GG Magree — King

Multi-hyphenate Australian creative GG Magree crowns herself with “King” and overwhelms you with a mix of EDM, house, trap, and punk. She comes off as mysterious in the stanzas, making the choruses come in even harder with their electrifying sounds. GG Magree shows that sometimes more really is more.

10. Yxngxr1 — my mom told me about u

Between all the hustle and stress, sometimes we just need carefree moments, and that’s what British singer Yxngxr1 seems to respond to with his new single, “my mom told me about u.” His lo-fi, uptempo sound has such a positive vibe that it quickly puts a big smile on your face. The DIY angle adds an additional charm with which he manages to score this time as well.
