The 24-year-old hemlocke springs remains her frivolous self on “Heavun”. With its foul synth melodies, the song embraces you from the start, and the American singer’s cool attitude in the vocal lines make you believe she’s long been among the world’s greats. There is so much spunk and character in this single, which we heard in previous singles, that we couldn’t imagine her not having a great career ahead of her. Despite the nostalgic production, this is precisely what music in 2023 is all about. Hemlocke springs opens the gates of heaven on “heavun.”

We can’t help but love Leigh-Anne.

6. Luka — When You’re Drunk

After Belgian singer Luka released her debut EP and scored a hit with Andromedik, she released her first single of the year with “When You’re Drunk.” For the single, she went with an uptempo production, which has something akin to drum & bass and makes us feel on fire with her husky voice in the exclamations.
