The 7 Must-Haves From the SS20 H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection

H&M just revealed its Conscious Exclusive collection for this season. Our first thought: can someone please invite us to a fancy party as of the 26th of March? Anything will do, really … Whether it’s a wedding, birthday, even a baby shower could be an option if the baby doesn’t mind sharing some of the attention with our outfit.

Le Train Bleu

You’ve probably noticed that the collection reflects a touch of nostalgia. Well, you’re right. It was inspired by “Le Train Bleu” (or the blue train), an elegant sleeper train that went from Calais to the Côte d’Azur in the 1920s. Other sources of inspiration were artists Jean Cocteau and Pablo Picasso who spent a lot of time at Villa Santo Sospir in Cap Ferrat, a peninsula in the south of France.

Sustainability and innovative materials

The entire goal of the Conscious Exclusive collection is to distinguish itself by the use of sustainable processes and innovative materials. One of the highlights of the collection is the dark blue gown, made from 100% recycled polyester. Materials from past collections were also re-used to create new items such as the bracelet with the glass pearls.

The creative team conducted research into dyeing methods that are better for the environment. As a colorant, they even used coffee grounds they gathered at the H&M offices. Even more than the past seasons, the sustainable part of the collection was carefully considered.

The Conscious Exclusive Collection will be available from March 26 in stores and on H&M’s online webstore.
