These 8 Albums Are Coming Out In February

Every week, an awful lot of albums are released, sometimes leaving us overwhelmed. To help us, but most of all to help you find your way among all the releases, we make a monthly list of albums you should absolutely not miss. In February, for instance, we can look forward to a new album by Caroline Polachek, RAYE will release her long-awaited debut album, and German newcomer Nina Chiba will continue her international conquest.

RAYE — 21st Century Blues

RAYE had to fight for it, but she can finally share her first full-length album with the world after years of working on it. Thanks to the viral TikTok hit “Escapism”, the hype around the British singer is bigger than ever before, and the anticipation for 21st Century Blues is also rising. On the album, she not only reckons with the music industry that held her back from unloading this project for years but more importantly shows that she was made to dominate the music world with her unique sound.

’21st Century Blues’ will be out on February 3.

Rebecca Black — Let Her Burn

We love Cinderella stories like Rebecca Black’s. The American singer went viral 11 years ago with “Friday”, a song that many say is among the worst songs ever. The negative reactions eventually made the singer want to prove herself more than ever, which earned her a lot of praise in recent years. The recent singles at least showed that Let Her Burn has everything to catapult her into a true pop star who does have talent and makes strong pop songs. From zero to an absolute hero.

‘Let Her Burn’ will be released on February 9.

Kelela — Raven

Only a handful of R&B artists have had such an impact on us as Kelela has had. Her 2017 debut album, Take Me Apart, is still considered monumental within the genre, and its follow-up, Raven, could also be a great musical moment based on the released singles. The Ethiopian-American singer-songwriter creates the perfect mood, and the power in her music can hardly be matched, which has made her an acclaimed artist for years. “Contact” was already a promising taste of Raven.

‘Raven’ will be released on February 10.

Tennis — Pollen

We know a few couples who make music as a duo, but Patrick Riley and Alaina Moore are also musical soulmates who make delightful indie pop as Tennis. Their music’s dreaminess and nostalgic flair already brought the American duo fame with their debut album Swimmer, which quickly raised the question if they could exceed those expectations with Pollen. “Let’s Make a Mistake Tonight” already gave us a look into their cards, and it shows that they are going for an absolute smash. To stay in tennis terms, they are going for game-set match.

‘Pollen’ will be released on February 10.

Caroline Polachek — Desire, I Want to Turn Into You

Caroline Polachek has gone from a normal pop fairy to a real music goddess, who showed with Pang, that she transcends everything and everyone with ease. For those who still doubt her transcendent human abilities, we can only recommend Desire, I Want to Turn Into You. As the producer and inspiration behind her second full-length album, the American singer-songwriter pulls out all the stops and unquestionably highlights her status as a frontrunner in the pop world. On Valentine’s Day, we will be able to express our love for Caroline Polachek once again.

‘Desire, I Want to Turn Into You’ will be released on February 14.

Gracie Abrams — Good Riddance

Anyone reeling from a broken heart lately will find comfort in Gracie Abrams’ gentle pop melodies. The 23-year-old singer has made subdued songs her trademark and has been working on her debut album Good Riddance for a long time. With hundreds of millions of streams, the American artist already has a loyal fan base behind her, which can only expand thanks to her first real project. Gracie Abrams could easily glue your broken heart back together with her music.

‘Good Riddance’ will be released on February 24.

Nina Chuba — Glas

Last year, Nina Chuba already broke through in her home country Germany, and we would not be surprised if the rest of the world also falls for the ravishing artist’s quirky pop-rap. Her single “Wildberry Lillet” has been occupying the top of the German charts for weeks, and all tickets for her tour are already sold out. The perfect styling, strong visuals, and especially catchy songs remind us a bit of Rosalía but in German. On Glas, she will show what facets lie within her and establish herself as an artist to definitely keep an eye on.

‘Glas’ will be released on February 24.

Ferdous — Cool Party

Ferdous and producer does not shy away from experimenting, making him more interesting as an artist. We only very recently discovered his music thanks to “Deal With It”, but he impressed us so much that we are now counting down the days until he finally shares his debut mixtape Cool Party with the world. The Afghan-Dutch singer manages to bring something refreshing and new by playing with references to the past. Cool Party promises to be one hell of a party.

‘Cool Party’ by Ferdous will be released on February 24.
