This Is How & Other Stories Celebrates International Women’s Day

With the rise of strong females is International Women’s Day outdated? Most definitely not. The first time a Women’s Day was organized was in New York in 1909, since then things have only slowly improved. Inequality, the glass ceiling and abuse unfortunately remain widespread problems. That’s why it’s so essential to reflect on these topics and also celebrate women today. Swedish brand & Other Stories well-understood the importance of Women’s Day and launched a feel good campaign entitled ‘Be Bold! Get Weird! WHO CARES!’

“Dance like nobody’s watching”

This year & Other Stories teamed up with the L.A. Municipal Dance Squad to reinforce their International Women’s Day message. This diverse group of inspiring women gathers to get loose through movement. Their philosophy: “dance like nobody’s watching” indicates the importance of being true to yourself. Even though the squad consists of a various range of women, they all highly value a sense of belonging when it comes to their team.

Besides the official photoshoot, which you can behold on the & Other Stories website, a series of mini documentaries have been launched. These allow the members to talk about themselves, dancing and the importance of their squad. Their message is encouraging and shows that being yourself is more than enough.
