Troye Sivan Gets Up and Close On His New EP ‘In a Dream’

Teens, girls, and gays have another reason to live because our favorite twink Troye Sivan has released his 6-track strong EP ‘In a Dream‘ today. The Australian singer became a worldwide pop sensation with his first album ‘Blue Neighbourhood’ in 2015 and has been flourishing ever since. After the success of his second LP ‘Bloom‘, his new EP is his first project in two years and it was absolutely worth the wait.

While Troye was never shy to share stories in his songs, he was never as personal as he is on his new EP In a Dream. Of course, heartbreak is one of the main themes in songs like “Easy” or “could cry thinkin about you” but Sivan digs a little deeper than we’re used to of him since it’s all inspired by the break-up with his ex-boyfriend Jacob Bixenman.

Mirror, mirror…

Even though the whole project was written before the coronavirus led to a worldwide crisis, In a Dream feels like a mirror for many young teens. For example, on “Stud” Troye talks about struggling with his own body image and speaks to so many young kids from the heart. On other songs on the EP, he’s giving insight to his feelings after a four-year-long relationship. Musically, Troye never sounded as exquisite as he does on the six new songs, so we better prepare for his third album that should be out somewhere 2021.

Troye Sivan’s EP ‘In a Dream’ is out now.
