Introducing Amir Hassan and his latest collection
In June 2016, Amir Hassan, born in Denmark by Egyptian parents, graduated at the VIA Design & Business University. After graduating, Amir was looking to partner up with someone to start his own line. At that time, his soon-to-be-partner, Frederik Christian Rasbech was also looking for a significant investment. By November 12th, 2016 the two friends founded Twelvepieces in Aarhus, Denmark.
The Danish-born Egyptian designer draws influence from Arabic traditions combined with a Danish aesthetic. His raison-d’etre is to underline that people are still fighting for basic human rights in the middle east and that people cannot be compared to their government. By staying out of the ideological and social debate, Amir wants to let the clothes speak for themselves. Amir is not trying to tell people what is right or wrong, but he’d rather inspire people to stand up for what they believe in.
