Uniqlo Collaborates With J.W.Anderson for new designer collaboration

Uniqlo announced a new designer collaboration with J.W.Anderson. The British high-end fashion brand and Uniqlo will work together on a men’s and women’s collection.

We’re getting excited as we’re writing this! J.W.Anderson is one of Britain’s most innovative and creative brands, for sure. So a collaboration with the affordable Japanese brand sounds appealing to us! They both have a lot to offer to each other. We’ll have to wait a few more months to see any results, though. The designer collaboration is launching coming fall/winter 2017.

Commenting on today’s announcement, Jonathan Anderson said, “Collaborations are incredibly important in design. When I think of Uniqlo, I think of things that are perfectly made, that people have spent a lot of time considering; it’s a difficult job, and I think Uniqlo do it very well. Working with Uniqlo is probably the most incredible template of democracy in fashion. It’s nice that my design can be accessible to anyone, on all different levels.”

Previous collaborations

For spring/summer 2016, Uniqlo did a collection with Lemaire. The French brand designed a typically Parisian collection. Which is always a smart idea. But the Japanese brand also collaborated with Jil Sander for a collection called “+J” in 2009 and lasted for 5 seasons. The +J collection might be our all-time favorite Uniqlo collaboration. Others include Opening Ceremony, Theory, Undercover, NIGO and Pharrell Williams.
