Uniqlo and JW Anderson Collaborate for a Fall/Winter 2019 Collection

The Fall/Winter 2019 collection created by the Japanese UNIQLO and London-based JW ANDERSON came out on 17 October. The collection was inspired by the town of St. Ives in Cornwall, England, the modern and open British outdoor style. It resulted in a new LifeWear collection with a blend between traditional British elements and the modern designs of JW ANDERSON.

Classic British patterns with a modern twist

The designer grew up in Britain and enjoyed the accompanying traditional British patterns, such as tartans and warm Nordic designs. The collection features outerwear, innerwear, and accessories, all of these are foreseen with the previously mentioned patterns. But JW ANDERSON doesn’t lose its identity for this collection, the collection is embellished with borderlines and fringes.

For this fourth collaboration, the reversible items couldn’t be left out. But the collab features some new pieces as well, such as the down jackets and coats with splashes of yellows and greens over an earthy base. Down jackets for both men and women feature neutral, classic tones on the outside with contrasting color on the inside.

Uniqlo’s identity wasn’t left behind

You might begin to wonder, where is the identity of the Japanese UNIQLO gone? But don’t worry the typical functionality of the brand is still here. HEATTECH Warm Easy Pants are lined with HEATTECH fleece and featured with exceedingly practical details, including a webbing belt that can be easily adjusted with one hand and side pockets accented with colorful bungee cords. Also, the women’s AIRism leggings and half-zip tees provide the functionality to prevent stuffiness and maintain comfort even in winter with striking triple color borderline designs that give edgy accents to traditional collection items.

The collection will be available at the UNIQLO and JW ANDERSON website.
