Why Rock Werchter Is One Of The Best Festival In The World

There’s only a week left before Rock Werchter will open its doors to welcome over 90.000 music lovers a day and we’re counting the days before we finally leave for the festival site. With around a hundred acts from all different genres, the lineup is once again showing the diversity of music nowadays and will make every music lover happy. Rock Werchter is not only one of the best festivals in the world because of the music, but the overall-package makes the four-day long festival a real experience.

Glitter in the air

Rock Werchter’s headliners of this year are pretty spectacular. Starting on Thursday with a headline show of the phenomenal P!NK, who’ll be doing her only European festival appearance on the opening day of Rock Werchter. Her shows are known for being a giant spectacle and she promised to bring it all to Werchter. From her acrobatic stunts to all the glitter in the air.

On Friday, rock fans will be able to see the iconic band The Cure and the comeback of Tool, while Mumford & Sons is set to take the stage on Saturday. That same day, the musical elf Florence & The Machine will accompany the sunset with her angelic indie-pop. The closing act of the festival is the British rock band Muse, who are equally doing their only festival show on Werchter and have one of the biggest productions on the planet.

Belgians do it better!

Belgium is becoming bigger and bigger in the music industry and that shows while looking at the line up. Angèle, the pop queen from Brussels and the massively talented Tamino (who has been handpicked by Lana Del Rey to support her on tour) will both perform in The Barn, which is the largest tent. Other Belgian acts that’ll be performing are Miss Angel, Whispering Sons, Portland and of course Balthazar. It’s clear, Belgians do it better!

Pop ‘n’ Roll

Even though the name of the festival might be misleading, there are many pop acts on the bill of Rock Werchter. Especially female pop acts got their spot on the lineup this year and will show why they’re called the future pop. Rosalia, Lizzo, Grace Carter, Jessie Reyez, Mahalia, King Princess, Georgia,… are just a few names of the interesting upcoming pop acts you’re able to catch at the festival, but legendary acts like Kylie Minogue, Robyn and Janelle Monáe are also booked for a spectacular show. With The 1975, Bastille, Yungblud and Years & Years, there’s also room for giant male pop acts. What a spectacular lineup!

Relax – take it easy

If you don’t know who to see or you just need a break, there’s plenty of other things to discover on the festival site. With a wide range of food, you won’t famish at all and can discover food from all over the world. In need of a good drink? The two ‘Apero’-zones, located at the North West Walls and next to The Barn, are a cozy place to grab a beer, wine or cocktail while trying some delicious appetizers.

Not hungry or thirsty? There’s a little hippie market at the festival ground, where you can find all kinds of things. From sunglasses to tattoos. Apart from that, the North West Walls are also a nice place to sit down and relax or just party at The Brewery. As you can see there’s plenty of choice, so you won’t be bored at all.

Rock Werchter is without a doubt one of the biggest and best festivals in Europe. With this breathtaking lineup, we’re sure you’ll be in for a treat and will have the time of your life. Who will we see there next week?
