World Premiere: New York Pop Singer Tanners Shares Refreshing Music Video For ‘Venus’

It took her six months, but the New York-based singer Tanners is finally ready to share the refreshing music video of her single ‘Venus’. Her self-titled debut EP was released last year and received raving reviews from high profile music magazines like FADER & Stereogum, but that was just the start. Today, we’re extremely excited to share her second music video in an exclusive world premiere.

Tanners is slowly making waves in the pop world, because apart of having Nile Rodgers as a fan, Tanners starred in the Puma x Shantell Martin campaign. Her cool, fresh and modern attitude is surely one of her biggest advantages, but her undeniable sense of good pop is too. Not only is she writing her own songs, she is also producing them and has enough engineering skills to finish her songs on her own.

‘Venus’ – an ode to psych pop

After returning to New York from a trip to Asia, Tanners felt confused and expressed her feelings in her single “Venus”, which finally got a music video. Inspired by the movies Neon Demon and Enter The Void and the music video of A$AP Rocky’s “L$D”, the young artist knew she wanted to do something with the same kind of lights and colors. Finding a perfect match in the performer Samantha Bergeron, the plot wrote itself and made the performer the centerpiece of the narrative.

“The character I play is apathetic, irritated, and just generally in a bad mood while she’s reluctantly dragged around to parties by her friends. But there’s a shift when she comes in contact with Samantha.”, Tanner explains and we totally feel what she wanted to portray.

This isn’t the last thing we’ve seen and heard from Tanners, that’s for sure.
