5 Face Masks That Will Help You Fight the Winter Blues

Let’s talk face masks. They come in different shapes, structures and formulas and there are about 250 options for every skin issue you want to tackle. Not only are they the epitome of self-care, they’re also a great go-to for when you want to feel like you’ve got your life together for a solid 10 to 15 minutes. To help you decide which mask is worth the splurge this winter, we’ve listed five options for you to check out.

Even in winter it’s important to slough off those dead skin cells to prevent clogged pores. However, your skin tends to get a lot drier and more sensitive during this time of the year, so lay off the harsh scrubs and acids and opt for something gentle. This mask will hydrate your skin and the oats will carefully exfoliate.

2. Yoghurt and honey DIY

When it comes to taking your skin care routine to the kitchen, you have to be careful. The internet is a wild place and not everything that is said to be great for you, actually is. (Side-eying all the people who recommend you put lemon juice on your skin.) But there’s one simple recipe that your skin will appreciate. Mix a tablespoon of natural yoghurt with half a tablespoon of honey. The lactic acid in the yoghurt will lightly exfoliate your skin, while the honey will add some hydration to it.

It doesn’t get any better than a good sheet mask if you’re looking for plump, hydrated, k-beauty inspired glass skin. Of course, there are tons of options out there when it comes to sheet masks. This Garnier one comes with one for every skin type and is an affordable option that you can easily get your hands on.

This overnight mask is like eight glasses of water, but for your skin. You apply a thin layer before going to bed and you wake up with refreshed and hydrated skin. This is a great alternative if you’re not patient enough to sit around and wait until you can take off your face mask.

Another gem is this sheet mask packed with vitamin C to combat dull skin. When your skin looks dead and tired, that’s when you need to call in the brightening ingredients. Keep in mind though, that when applying vitamin C to your skin, you also need to incorporate SPF into your routine.
