5 Movies Coming to Netflix in December

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Streets are being decorated, the first Christmas trees are set up, and it’s getting freezing cold. December is around the corner, which also means that a lot of movies and series are coming to Netflix. Get comfortable on your couch, grab something to snack or drink, and enjoy some new, highly-anticipated Netflix movies.

1. The Power of the Dog

With a cast including Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst, this western drama is Netflix’s big hope to get some Oscar nominations and could earn Dunst her first Academy Award. The Power of the Dog is Jane Campion’s big return to directing movies and sees her create a very intriguing story about Phil Burbank, who believes he’ll never fall in love.

‘The Power of the Dog’ is coming to Netflix on December 1.

2. The Unforgivable

Sandra Bullock has established herself as a very versatile actress and proves she can play another difficult role in The Unforgivable. In the movie, Bullock portrays Ruth Slater, who wants to rebuild her life after serving time in prison for committing a violent crime. This drama will move everyone to tears.

‘The Unforgivable’ is coming to Netflix on December 10.

3. The Hand of God

Have you adored Call Me By Your Name? We strongly recommend you to watch the Italian drama The Hand of God, which won the jury prize at the renowned Venice International Film Festival. The story follows the teenager Fabietto Schisa during his life changing-times in Naples during the ’80s. A tale about fate, family, sports, love, and loss. Not to be missed.

‘The Hand of God’ is coming to Netflix on December 15.

4. Don’t Look Up

The list of A-listers involved in Adam McKay’s satirical apocalypse comedy is impressive. Leonardo Di Caprio and Jennifer Lawrence are two low-level astronomers that want to warn the world of an approaching comet that will destroy the earth. Not convinced yet? Besides Di Caprio and Lawrence, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Meryl Streep, and Cate Blanchett will grace the screen. This looks like a promising comedy.

‘Don’t Look Up’ is coming to Netflix on December 24.

5. The Lost Daughter

On the last day of 2021, The Lost Daughter will debut on Netflix. The drama directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal tells the story of Leda Caruso (Olivia Colman), who finds herself becoming obsessed with another woman and her daughter during her holiday and confronts her again with her own early motherhood. What first starts as a tale turns into a ferocious confrontation with an unsettled past.

‘The Lost Daughter is coming to Netflix on December 31.
