The first Legally Blonde movie came out 17 years ago, in 2001. In 2003 Witherspoon reprised her role as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde. Now, after all those years, we finally get what we deserve: a third Legally Blonde movie starring Reese Witherspoon as the pink feminist icon that is Elle Woods. The original producer Mark Platt and his Platt Productions president Adam Siegel are producing the movie, together with Witherspoon, who will be producing through her media company Hello Sunshine. Rumors are that the producers are gathering the original team of the first movie to create the third movie. So I think we can all agree that this is going to be awesome!
The only sad thing about all of this is the release date. The third movie of Legally Blonde will be in theaters on Valentine’s day in 2020. That’s a long time, but not as long as 17 years, so we’ll take it! Until then, we’ll just have to entertain ourselves with the previous two movies, which isn’t so bad tbh.
