These 7 Albums Are Coming In January

A new year means several new albums to look forward to! 2022 delivered some amazing albums, and the first month of the new year is looking promising as well. We’re getting long-awaited new records of many exciting artists who have been teasing their new projects for months. Get out your calendar and mark down the release dates of these albums.

Archie X — Are You Listening?

Belgian pop duo Archie X has been working on their debut album for a while and will finally see the light of day. Are You Listening? is full of conversational pop tunes that are particularly catchy and convey a fine dynamic. Indeed, Charline D’hoore and Tom Lodewyckx complement each other perfectly. She is the frontwoman and tells her personal stories in the songs while he puts everything together perfectly from a production point of view. Will you be listening? We hope you will because the first singles were already a nice surprise.

‘Are You Listening?’ will be out on the 13th of January.

Låpsley — Cautionary Tales of Youth

Holly Fletcher was often compared to Adele on her debut, but that comparison is now completely outdated. As Låpsley, the English artist makes stunning, balanced electropop songs that create absolute peace of mind and went global in the form of the singles “Hurt Me” and “Operator”. On Cautionary Tales of Youth, she digs deeper into her own emotional world and brings a lot of things to the surface. The combination with the melodic productions remains a golden formula, at least, that’s what the first four songs lead us to believe anyway. Cautionary Tales of Youth is the ideal soundtrack to find your inner self again.

‘Cautionary Tales of Youth’ will be out on the 20th of January.

Måneskin — Rush!

Casually win the Eurovision Song Contest and then conquer the world: Italian rock quartet Måneskin succeeded with verve, creating mass hysteria with every passage. However, they remained calm under the pressure and worked with ease on their third album, Rush!, where they mainly sing in English and for which they worked with hit producer Max Martin. “Mammamia”, “Supermodel”, and “THE LONELIEST” were already becoming real hits and also made America fall for their Italian charms. We are eagerly awaiting the full album and are curious whether they can live up to the high expectations.

‘Rush!’ will be out on the 20th of January.

Ava Max — Diamonds & Dancefloors

The run-up to her second album was a bumpy ride for Ava Max. The American pop diva was initially supposed to release the album in October but decided to delay it for three months to work on it some more. She eventually changed the artwork and opted to release some more singles to increase anticipation. From what we have already heard and seen, we can only conclude that Ava Max is only going to establish herself even more as a pop artist on Diamonds & Dancefloors. Ava Max unloads bop after bop and is going to make any dance floor shine more than ever with her infectious tunes.

‘Diamonds & Dancefloors’ will be out on the 27th of January.

Kimbra — A Reckoning

For many, Kiwi singer Kimbra is someone they once knew, thanks to her world hit “Somebody That I Used To Know” with Gotye. However, minimizing her to that one hit would do dishonor to all her work, as her previous album Primal Heart was an underrated pop gem. On her fourth album, A Reckoning, she awakens from hibernation after five years and finally releases another album. The singles “replay!” and “save me” were already intriguing tracks, where she stays away from the most obvious choices and finds order in the abstract.

‘A Reckoning’ will be out on the 27th of January.

Sam Smith — Gloria

Sam Smith hasn’t had to prove themselves for a long time. The four-time Grammy and Oscar winner is among the most successful British artists of recent years and managed to move people with their music. On their new album Gloria, Smith processes a dark period by shining a light on it and turning it into something beautiful. In any case, the lead single “Unholy” featuring Kim Petras already became one of their biggest hits in their career, so that bodes well for Gloria.

‘Gloria’ will be out on the 27th of January.

SG Lewis — AudioLust & HigherLove

SG Lewis has already worked with big names behind the scenes but is also increasingly putting himself in the writing spotlight. On his upcoming album AudioLust & HigherLove, the British artist creates two worlds. On the first, we hear a darker, ego-driven version of love, while on the second, he wants to give a deeper meaning to love. To do so, he got the help of Tove Lo, Channel Tres, Ty Dolla $ign, and Lucky Daye, among others. Who else will make an appearance is still a secret, but that this will be an interesting album is already certain.

‘AudioLust & HigherLove’ will be out on the 27th of January.
