Exclusive Premiere: K.ZIA Ascends to Another Atmosphere in Music Video for ‘Rise’

Sometimes the darkest moments in our lives are the ones that ultimately bring us light, and Berlin-based singer K.ZIA knows that. Her upcoming EP, ‘Kintsugi Heart’, will be released in just over a month and was created during a dark period in her life, once again providing a personal look into her thought process. The new single, “Rise”, has already become a statement to rise from the ashes, and the accompanying music video, which we are premiering, only reinforces that message.

In an interview with us nearly two years ago, she noted how important it is for her to grow on a human level. After highlighting her human evolution on her most recent album Genesis, she takes an even bigger leap on her new EP, Kintsugi Heart. The latest single, “Love Is”, was already a hopeful message full of love, and the new “Rise” now continues that trend.

Finding light

The music video visually takes you through the period K.ZIA went through. In a dark environment with shadows of light, she searches for herself, eventually finding herself again and shining like never before. She also takes more risks with her vocals, which are poignantly engaging at the end. On “Rise,” she says, “Life can get very difficult at times, we can get lost in very dark places. But even in the darkest areas, it is possible to spark some light by finding the energy within ourselves. Rise is an anthem to finding that inner strength to overcome. We may be beaten down, by life, by people, but still like dust, we will RISE.”
