6 Movies To Watch This June

We understand that you don’t want to get into a committed relationship right before summer. You might want to pass on the series releasing this June but don’t deny yourself a good movie! This June, we’ve got something for everyone: animation, horror, rom-com, and more. Scroll down to discover the flings—erm—films we recommend.

1. Elemental

We won’t deny that a children’s movie can be fun to watch that’s why we look forward to Disney Pixar’s Elemental. We find ourselves in Element City, where land, air, water, and fire residents live together. Ember is a fiery and temperamental young lady who befriends the withy and go-with-the-flow Wade. Two seemingly different people who have a lot in common. With their friendship evolving, Ember starts to question her beliefs about the world she lives in.

‘Elemental’ is coming to theaters on June 16.

2. The Flash

Imagine being able to run so fast that you could time travel. In The Flash Barry Allen aka The Flash (Ezra Miller) travels back in time to save his mother from being murdered. But there are consequences: he is trapped in a world without superheroes, and General Zod has returned. To defeat General Zod, The Flash joins forces with his younger self, a retired Batman, and an imprisoned Kryptonian, Supergirl. Will they succeed?

3. Asteroid City

Wes Anderson is back with a new movie: Asteroid City. It’s 1955, and photographer Augie Steenbeck (Jason Schwartzman) is stuck in a small town called Asteroid City. The city is known for its meteor crater and astronomical observatory. This year, the town gets to host the Junior Stargazer convention, which is coincidently held the weekend Steenbeck is in town. When he’s sitting in a diner, Steenbeck meets famous actress Midge Campbell (Scarlett Johansson). Soon the duo gets joined by a third party, extra-terrestrials, who shake up the town. Get ready for those symmetrical shots we love so dearly.

4. The Perfect Find

In The Perfect Find, we follow the life of Jenna (Gabrielle Union). She gets her life back on track after a messy public breakup and being fired. She moves to New York to rebuild her reputation. She’s got one shot to get back in the game. Jenna starts to work for cutthroat mogul Darcy (Gina Torres) and meets younger coworker Eric (Keith Powers). She soon falls for Eric but discovers that he’s Darcy’s son. Will she risk her career for love? One thing is for certain: we’ve got a cougar on our hands.

5. God Is A Bullet

God Is A Bullet centers around the life of vice detective Bob Hightower (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, whose ex-wife is murdered and whose daughter is kidnapped by a satanic cult. The detective is so frustrated with the inefficient work of the police that he quits the force and decides to infiltrate the cult. He’s approached by Case Hardin (Maika Monroe), who is the only female victim who managed to escape the cult. The two join forces to each get back something important to them.

6. No Hard Feelings

If you ever think your parents are control freaks, then you haven’t met the parents of 19-year-old Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman). In No Hard Feelings, Percy’s parents are worried about their introverted son, who shows no interest in dating or having sex. The parents decide to employ Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence), a young woman who is an Uber driver but just had her car taken from her as she faces bankruptcy. Maddie agrees to become Percy’s girlfriend and to “date his brains out” in exchange for a car. She helps him join adult life and watches him unfold into a confident man who she may like more than she anticipated.
