A Sunset on Your Face: New Skincare Brand IOAN Recreates Golden Hour on Your Skin

We can all agree that a good skin care regimen can brighten up your face, but that can take some time. Most skincare products take months to show results, an issue that the founders of IOAN wanted to tackle.

IOAN is a new Belgian skincare brand inspired by a Greek sunset. Their goal is to bring that sense of warmth and positivity that comes from the golden hour glow to your skin. They aim to bridge the gap between science and real life for effective beauty and skin care solutions that play on two fronts: an instant visual effect and long-lasting care. We’ve had the chance to try their products before launch and let’s say: we haven’t been this impressed in a long time!

Golden Hour serum

The name speaks for itself; it’s like they managed to put the sense of a golden hour into a bottle. This innovative serum gives your skin an immediate matte glow with a little touch of color and warmth. While it makes you look glowy, it also takes care of your skin with excellent ingredients: provitamins (A, B5, and E), antioxidants, natural minerals, hyaluronic acid, and more. In short, it’s jampacked with great stuff.

For us, this really is a stand-out product. The Golden Hour serum perfects the skin for a smooth and even skin texture. It reduces redness and gives you a great matte glow. All while leaving the skin feeling hydrated. Even our Enfnts Terribles co-founder has been using this daily, which is saying a lot since they use the bare minimum of skincare products.

Extra Sun tanning drops

We’ll be honest; we had given up on finding tanning drops that don’t make you look like a carrot. And on top of that, we hate the typical smell that tanning products leave behind. We still can’t quite believe it as we’re writing this, but the Extra Sun tanning drops are the first we’ve ever used that seem to eliminate all annoyances.

The founders of IOAN knew what they were doing. The drops are concentrated, and just one drop is enough for a gorgeous but subtle tan. We’ve been using this every day, and it didn’t take long before we started getting compliments on our sunkissed glow. You can use them on their own or mix them in with your moisturizer. Best of all, there is no streaking: the color evens out perfectly.

Double Up peeling mask

When we first saw this product, we were a bit scared. For years, we have been told that scrubs are the worst thing you can use on your face. And while true for the most part, IOAN-founder Jens taught us what can make a difference. In traditional scrubs, the damage comes from ingredients like sugar, which have raw edges and scratch the skin. The Double Up mask contains jojoba eco beads, which are spheric, so they have no raw edges but are smooth and polished, resulting in a micro-tear-safe product.

What we love about this product is that it has two uses: you can put it on and let it sit for 15 minutes, or if you’re in a hurry, immediately scrub and wash it off. The double peeling action—physical and enzymatic—leaves your skin feeling clean and soft. We haven’t experienced any irritation at all, and most importantly with masks, it’s not drying. So, if you have dry skin like me, this one is definitely a winner!

A staple in your skincare routine

We think that the strength of IOAN lies in its small beginnings: instead of coming out with a huge line of products, it focused on just three products that make it great. You can tell there are more than two years of hard work behind the brand. We can only applaud them and are excited to see what the future brings. For now, these glow-inducing products will be a staple in our skincare routine. And should be in yours as well!

You can shop the entire line on the IOAN website.
