All We Want for Summer Are These Celine Bags by Hedi Slimane

Remember this article we wrote when Hedi Slimane’s Celine bags first hit the stores? At that time we were a bit sceptical, yet enthusiastic. While everyone was feeling nostalgic about Phoebe Philo’s designs, we were definitely hopeful for the future. Well, seems like we were right to look forward to what Mr. Slimane still had in store for us.

Besides an exquisite color palette (we need more green and definitely that green Crécy bag in our lives), Slimane also managed to create a perfect collection of classic bags with a modern, simplistic touch. Obviously he had an archive to rely on but it’s also about how you turn that archive into something that works. We strongly believe that he will capture both the #oldceline clientele and a new crowd with this collection.

Compared to other luxury brands that seem to be randomly handing out bags to influencers in order to increase their sales, Celine has managed to be more discrete. While fashion, in general, has turned into pop, Hedi Slimane seems to be doing things differently, which is kind of refreshing, to be honest.

Buy the collection via Celine’s webstore.
