‘And Just Like That’ Three Icons Are Back on Our Screens

‘And Just Like That’ the long-awaited sequel of ‘Sex And The City’ was there. Fans of the iconic fashion comedy had to be patient for over eleven years and had to endure two questionable movies to see what Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda are up to now. The reboot takes off exactly where they left us years ago, but unfortunately (and as expected), Samantha aka Kim Cattrall decided to stay home.

And Just Like That shows what Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda are up to in 2021. While they still live in New York City, still drink their favorite cocktail (the Cosmopolitan), and still stroll down the street in the most expensive clothes, their topics during their infamous lunches have changed.

They ‘woke’ up like this

Let’s be honest. The first seasons had some jokes that wouldn’t pass the vibe-check in 2021 and would cause a massive shit storm on social media, but the new series proves that the girls are as ‘woke’ as we hoped them to be. Carrie starts to talk more in-depth about sex, there are open conversations about gender, and the ladies discuss dating apps. We stan our woke queens (even though, it’s sometimes a bit cringy).

You’ve probably already read spoilers of the dramatic ending of the premiere episode, and we can’t deny, we cried on our little sofa too. This unexpected plot twist, however, shows that the writers aren’t afraid to take risks with the script and aren’t afraid of making decisions that will break the hearts of all the Sex And The City fans. And Just Like That is as funny and enjoyable as always and demonstrates that their golden formula still works in times where new important conversations are held.

Curious to see what will happen next with Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda? And Just Like That can be streamed on Streamz and Telenet for all Belgian fans. A new episode will appear every Friday.
