On Our Radar 2021: Viral Rap-Duo Moji x Sboy

A new year always means we’re introducing new artists to keep an eye on. To spice it up a little bit, we decided to give our ‘On Our Radar’-series a little upgrade by inviting eight upcoming acts to an iconic monument just outside Brussels. La Nouvelle Maison, the last house where architect Coryphée lived which is currently under construction, functioned as the set for our editorial series. The viral rap-duo from Liège Moji x Sboy is the fourth act we’re presenting.

In the past week, France’s new pop R&B hero Joanna, chansonnier David Numwami and upcoming superstar Iliona were the first artists of our selection and we’re glad to add Moji x Sboy to the selected class of ‘On Our Radar 2021’. The duo has been around since 2018 and became one of the hottest viral sensations of the Belgian hip hop scene. With almost 30 million streams, they already gained big success on the streaming platform Spotify.

Better together

The musical twins are childhood friends and became an inseparable duo throughout the years. When they released their first freestyle in 2018, the scene was stunned by their refreshing new take on French hip hop. They’re not only inspired by emo-rappers like Lil Peep or Trippie Red but also have a growing fascination for lo-fi pop singers like Girl In Red and Clairo. The symbiosis between those both genres is so unique, that they invited their own genre that already inspires other acts.

Moji x Sboy are all set for a big year. A first mixtape is expected to come out very soon and could open the door to even bigger audiences. Together with the best beatmakers of Belgium like Ozhora Miyagi (A$AP Rocky and Swae Lee) or Chuki Beats, they created new gems that will become the soundtrack of this years and will set them on the radar of many others too.

Did we make you curious about Moji x Sboy? The duo was so kind to fill in some questions of our slam book, which gives you the opportunity to get to know the two even better.
