Hervé Who?
For anyone who has never heard of Hervé Villechaize (including ourselves just a while ago). He was a French painter and actor, born with dwarfism. At the age of 18 he became the youngest artist ever to have his work exhibited in the Museum of Paris. In the mid-sixties, he moved from France to the U.S., where he eventually pursued a career as an actor. Villechaize became famous thanks to his roles in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) and Fantasy Island.
My Dinner with Hervé portrays the encounter between journalist Danny Tate (Jamie Dornan) and Hervé Villechaize (Peter Dinklage) in Los Angeles. What had to be a regular interview, turned into a night full of unexpected events in which throwbacks are implemented to give insight into both Hervé’s and Tate’s past.
