Kali Uchis debut
Kali started experimenting with music at a young age. As a teenager, she played the piano and saxophone and later on began experimenting with music production and video editing. You could never really paste a genre on her experimental track. However, you could hear influences from indie pop, soul to reggae and R&B.
Colombia born Kali Uchis alias Karly Loaiza is one of the most interesting names in the industry right now. That’s because she’s a multi-talented boss lady that sings, writes, produces, and directs most of her own music. Once she drew the attention of Snoop Dogg, Gorillaz and Tyler the Creator after dropping her first mixtape ‘Drunken Babble‘, she made in her room back in 2012, a better world opened up to her and rightly so. Although she never wanted to be in the spotlight, look at her now.
Tyrant feat. Jorja Smith
In June this year, Kali released her video featuring U.K. singer Jorja Smith, titled Tyrant. What’s so enriching about this song is the frequent use of Spanish lyrics and a sudden shout out to French icon Brigitte Bardot. Have a look at the music video.
