The 10 Best Songs Of The Week

Are you desperately looking for brand-new songs to update your Spotify playlist? Don’t worry because we’re (once again) here for you. Every week, we pick the best songs of the week that surprised, moved, or electrified us. With a great range of big stars to upcoming singers, there’s room for everybody and everything. Turn up the volume because we discovered some true gems this week.

1. Tamino — The First Disciple

The world is at his feet, and he is finally back. Antwerp singer Tamino is celebrating his big comeback after almost three years of silence with the haunting “The First Disciple.” Once again, he brings together all his qualities: the oriental melodies, his graceful voice, and, above all, the delightful lyrics. We are so happy that this Belgian superstar is finally back with new music.

2. Judith Kiddo — Settle Down

Judith Kiddo calls Brussels her home and has been inspired by Europe’s multicultural capital for several years now. Besides being a catchy actress, Kiddo is, above all, a very intriguing artist who shows herself at her best on the uplifting “Settle Down.” There is a healing mystery in her voice, and her story manages to come in a little more this time. This multi-talented creative is just at the beginning of something big.

3. Lolo Zouaï — Give Me a Kiss

Lolo Zouaï only just celebrated the third anniversary of her debut album High Highs To Low Lows and has been touring America for the past few months as the support act for Dua Lipa. All those moments only made our hunger for new music grow, making “Give Me A Kiss” all the more welcome. On the innovative track, we get to hear a new perspective on pop music with a rock-solid vocal production. She’s not staying on the ‘low low’; she’s aiming for the stars.

4. Kitty — Pussy

Men still too often abuse their position of power in the music world. That’s what British hyperpop princess Kitty wants to address in her new single “Pussy.” The lyrics leave little to the imagination and therefore manage to convince us even more. The extremely clever production also silences us completely and gives us only one feeling: Kitty is not a pussy but a real tiger. She’s giving us everything we always needed.

5. Alioth and Taska Black — STAY AWAY

Alioth was named one of the most promising artists of this year by radio station Studio Brussel in January, and we have to agree. In the past, we already introduced him in our ‘On Our Radar’ series, and his brand-new collaboration with Taska Black is already bringing out the sun. The summery tune is packed with happy melodies and has us looking forward to balmy summer evenings with an ice-cold cocktail in our hands.

6. Shay — DA

Brussels-based rap star Shay celebrated massive success with her debut album Antidote in 2019 and has since graced the cover of Vogue Japan, among others. Her new single “DA” is another furious track in which we get to witness her from her most expressive side. Nothing or no one is holding her back, which is also reflected in the way she performs her music. The accompanying music video for “DA” is also highly recommended.

7. WAYI and Sunday Rose — Too Special

Let’s get funky! WAYI and Sunday Rose joined forces for a collaboration, showing both artists have incredibly beautiful voices. “Too Special” is a very danceable song with groovy bass guitars and an incredibly atmospheric chorus. Standing or sitting still while this song is playing is impossible, so put everything aside and bring out your best dance moves for these two top talents.

8. HARLEE — Reset

British hitmakers like Joel Corry or James Hype already fell in love with HARLEE’s voice, but now the time has come to venture out on her own. With her debut single, “Reset”, she stays true to danceable pop music and thus manages to draw us onto the dance floor like a magnet. The catchy choruses can be sung along in no time, and it comes as no surprise that this single could become a real summer hit.

9. NAVA and 555n — GAZ

When artists like Arca, Grimes, or Sevdaliza are among your reference artists, you already have a serious edge with us. The Milan-based NAVA brings a lot of exciting elements together in her avant-garde pop. So much so that we are glued to her lips from the very first seconds of “GAZ”. Our expectations for her EP (release: May 13th) have therefore been raised yet again with this one.

10. Aluna and Jayda G — Mine O’ Mine

Aluna and Jayda G are a real match made in heaven in terms of music because both acts know like no other how to get people to dance. So it was only a matter of time before both acts would go into the studio together to create the single of our dreams: “Mine O’ Mine”. We don’t have to use a lot of words to describe this single because the music speaks for itself. There is not a doubt in our minds that this will be a real highlight in their sets.
