The 13 Skincare Products We’ll Keep On Using in 2023

A new year means aging and one year closer to wrinkles. And we haven’t even fully outgrown our acne-prone skin. The struggle is real, therefore, we want to introduce you to our plethora of skincare products. Scroll down to meet the products we’ll gladly keep on using in 2023.

If there’s one golden rule in the world of skincare, it must be: never go to bed with your make-up on. That’s why we need the Sébium H20 from Bioderma. It’s a specific type of micellar water used for make-up removal on oily skin that simulates the skin’s natural composition. Honestly, we’ve been using these Bioderma products for years, and they never disappoint.

Next to the micellar water from Bioderma, this cleansing oil from Klairs is our holy grail when it comes to makeup removal. We’d even say it almost makes you look forward to removing your makeup. Just add a bit of oil to your hands, gently rub it onto your face, and wash it all off.

Shop Klairs cleansing oil via Zalando.

The Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence from Korean brand COSRX was one of the real hypes on skincare Tiktok the past year. We’ve been using it since 2018, and we guess that says it all, really. It’s the perfect product to get that healthy glass skin effect.

Another hype on Tiktok in 2022 were the CeraVe products, so we were very curious to test these. This Blemish Control Cleanser promises to gently cleanse the skin, remove excess sebum, penetrate clogged pores, and reduce blemishes while maintaining the skin barrier. It was exactly what we needed to get rid of those nasty pimples. A true keeper.

We were a bit confused by the Clarifying scrub mask in the beginning, but now we got the hang of it, so it’s all going smoothly. The thing is that we’re used to grains in our scrub, but this one actually doesn’t contain grains. You need to apply a thick layer on your face, neck, and decolletage, leave it on for a few minutes and then scrub, rinse, and dry. It will leave your skin clean and soft, so highly recommended!

The Ordinary is one of those brands that changed our entire view on skincare. Almost half of our skincare products used to be from The Ordinary, but now we only use the highlights, such as this retinoid. If you haven’t heard from retinol by now, you must have lived under a skincare rock. We use this oil-like serum two hours before we go to bed so the ingredients can work their magic on our skin—not our pillow—and we wake up all shiny the next morning.

Shop Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane from The Ordinary.

BHA, also known as salicylic acid, is an exfoliating ingredient that penetrates deep inside the skin’s pores. It helps to unclog any excess oil and impurities to prevent breakouts and blackheads, which is exactly what we need. We started our relationship with Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant slowly, meeting every two nights, but once we noticed it was working, we’ve been using it at full speed twice a day.

Shop Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant from Paula’s Choice.

When they asked us if we wanted to test skincare products containing Cannabis Sativa L, we obviously said yes. To anyone getting weird thoughts: no these products won’t get you stoned but soothe the skin instead. This cream blends so well with the skin, has an anti-inflammatory effect, stimulates cell regeneration, and slows down aging.

Shop Activated Facial Cream from Gano Skincare.

We always used the Cicaplast B5 cream on our scars, but according to TikTok, it’s also perfect to obtain that glass skin effect. Well, we had to test this when La Roche Posay came up with this spray, and it definitely works.

Let us be clear about one thing: nothing beats Korean sunscreen. After years of leaving the house with a sticky, white layer on our faces, this was an absolute revelation a few years ago, and it still is. This one from Beauty of Joseon was our favorite in 2022, and it can absolutely stay in 2023.

We’re not gonna lie, All Day All Year cream is the Rolls Royce among our selection of skincare products. Usually, we’re not that into expensive creams, but this one’s worth it. All Day All Year functions as a shield to protect our skin from things, such as pollution and sunlight, among others, which will slow down the aging process. Its creamy texture is very light and easy to apply.

Shop All Day All Year cream from Sisley Paris.

We feel like vitamin C serums have been everywhere lately, or we just spent too much time on Tiktok. As it’s an essential ingredient for glowy skin and has anti-aging effects, we can only be excited about it. We’ve been testing the Vitamine C + Alfa Arbutine serum from Collistar, and it has been approved. Its texture isn’t too sticky, it does what we expect from a vitamin C serum, and the extra alpha-arbutin also comes in handy.

Shop Vitamine C + Alfa Arbutine serum from Collistar.

What can we say … you don’t mess with the classics. This “Elixir de Beauté” from Caudalie has been part of our beauty ritual for quite a while now. We use it as a setting spray or just randomly when we feel our skin can use a little refreshment.

Shop Elixir de Beauté from Caudalie.
