Unlocking the secret to fuller lips? We tested The Inkey List’s new & hyped lip balm

Having always been on the lookout for the latest in beauty breakthroughs, The Inkey List’s Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm caught my attention, promising a substantial 40% plump in lip volume. Fuller lips without the complications and discomfort of injections? Intriguing to say the least! So, we put it to the test.

The brand has been hyping this new launch up for weeks, with claims like “clinically proven to plump lips by up to 40% in 4 weeks”. It’s no surprise that the product sold out upon hitting the web, but thankfully we were just on time to get our hands on it.

At first glance, the packaging is signature Inkey List – clean, minimalistic, and letting the product speak for itself. No excessive glamour, just the promise of results. And did it deliver? Almost entirely!

Lip filler in a tube?

Here’s the nuance: If you’re looking for a magical transformation – to what fillers might offer – this might not be your holy grail. However, almost all its other claims are true. The immediate effect is a deeply moisturizing sensation that soothes the lips, making them incredibly soft and supple.

This immense hydration does give the illusion of fuller lips. While the “40% more volume” claim might feel a bit ambitious, the moisture definitely offers natural plumpness by eliminating lines and dry, flaky patches. Your lips don’t just feel better, they look healthier and, in effect, fuller. But it won’t create what’s not there yet. In other words: it won’t be a Kylie Jenner transformation.

Nourishment

In the landscape of lip care, where many products offer immediate relief but no lasting benefits, this balm stands out. It’s not just a temporary fix; it seems to deeply nourish the lips. The only con for me is that it tastes horrible, and you’re bound to accidentally taste some eventually. But I’ll happily take that.

In conclusion, for those seeking a two-in-one solution – a moisturizing lip balm that also grants a fuller appearance – this product is worth the investment. However, manage your expectations regarding the extent of the ‘plumping’ effect. The real magic here lies in its profound hydrating properties. It’s already become my new favorite and comes with me everywhere I go. And for € 11,99, it’s a great deal.
