These past four weeks, we already showed you Veerle Dejaeger, Matthias Geerts, Shanice Engel, Kofi Von Ohene and Paulien Riemis with their favorite designer piece and we’re extremely excited to feature the wonderful Krietjur today.

Before quarantine was a thing, we worked on our new series ‘Designer Darlings‘ with upcoming photographer Ines Vansteenkiste-Muylle and invited a handful of personalities to bring their favorite designer item to our office for a photo shoot. Today, we’re pleased to introduce you to Krietjur, the self-called Belgian Empress and member of the Ghent-based drag collective House Of Lux.
These past four weeks, we already showed you Veerle Dejaeger, Matthias Geerts, Shanice Engel, Kofi Von Ohene and Paulien Riemis with their favorite designer piece and we’re extremely excited to feature the wonderful Krietjur today.

Krietjur definitely came to snatch our wigs with her fantastic Thierry Mugler suit, which looks as if it was sculpted to her body. “I found the suit on the Instagram story of a secondhand-seller from the Netherlands and immediately DM’ed him,” she says when asked where she found the black suit, that was made in the eighties. Krietjur already owned another Mugler suit but this one is her baby since she hasn’t worn it on stage a lot.
Because the suit is such an iconic piece in fashion, Krietjur likes to combine it with rather classic elements like black stilettos and black stockings to create this strong businesswoman persona. “My drag aesthetic is rather mysterious BSDM with these ‘don’t fuck with me’-vibes, so the suit totally represents what I stand for,” Krietjur says and it absolutely makes sense. Start your engines because Krietjur is ready to win.
