K-Beauty Favorites Part II: Huxley

Since we’ll be spending a lot of time at home in the upcoming weeks, we better find something useful to do. Like taking care of our skin, for example. It’s not only relaxing but will also make you look good once you’re allowed to leave the house again. Those who remember our article about K-Beauty, where we promised to write about our favorite brands. Well, here’s number two: Huxley.

When looking at the imagery of Huxley, you’d rather think its origins are North African instead of South Korean. It’s because founder Byung Hoon Lee was inspired by the beauty rituals of the Moroccan women. One of the key ingredients they use to protect their skin from drying in the desert is cactus seed oil. It became the essence of Huxley’s products.

Oil Essence

Our first favorite is Huxley’s Oil Essence that strengthens and energizes the skin. It’s full of antioxidant-rich ingredients such as Sahara Cactus Oil, Quinoa, and Acai berry. Cactus seed oil is known for containing loads of vitamin E and provides the skin with lasting hydration, protects against external stressors and aging. The essence is comprised of 61% oil, it has the ability to quickly absorb into the skin and has a non-greasy texture.

We love this product because it leaves our skin with a glow, hydrates without making our face look shiny and to top it all off, it didn’t cause any breakouts.

More Than Moist Cream

Our second favorite is Huxley’s More Than Moist cream. This day and night cream has a rich, butter-like texture that deeply hydrates dry skin. It’s full of nourishing ingredients such as Lipidure PMD (a polymer that improves the skin’s protective barrier and prevents moisture loss), shea butter, birch sap, SC-Glucan (regenerates skin cells and improves the skin’s moisture barrier) and obviously cactus seed oil.

The More Than Moist cream might not be ideal when you have acne-prone skin. If that’s the case the Glow Awakening or Fresh & More creams might be more suitable for you.

Good Night Sleeping Mask

Third on our list is the Good Night Sleeping Mask. It’s a leave-on mask you apply before you go to bed after your regular skincare routine. While you’re sleeping, it will deeply hydrate and also repair dull skin thanks to ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and Centella Asiatic. It has a non-sticky gel texture that is quickly absorbed.

The Good Night Sleeping Mask promises to make your skin look more radiant, youthful and supple when you wake up. Usually, the first thing that pops up in our mind when reading this is “yeah right”. We must, however, admit that there’s some truth in what they promise. It’s not like all of a sudden we looked 17 again, but we definitely saw an improvement in the morning.
