10 New Songs We Suggest You Add To Your Playlist

After a rather boring edition of the AMAs and the surprising Grammy nominations (#JusticeForTheWeeknd), it’s time to highlight the true musical highlights of the week. With great excitement, we handpicked ten songs and added them to our brand-new Spotify playlist (go follow it!).

1. King Princess — PAIN

The queers are in for a treat thanks to the ‘mother of all lesbians’ King Princess. The American musician has been working on the follow-up of her groundbreaking debut Cheap Queens and gathered nearly the same team around her to create some equal magical songs.

“PAIN” is the emotional banger we all needed and is King Princess’ favorite own song to date. The bass line is just extraordinary and invites you to get freaky. It’s cheeky, slightly cheesy, and hella catchy. King Princess proves once more that she knows how to write a gay anthem.

2. Yungblud — mars

Yungblud is literally the definition of a true ‘Enfnts Terribles’ and became a global icon by speaking up for many minorities. The British singer does whatever he wants and sets his own rules, which makes him a frontrunner of the Gen-Z musicians. A week before his new album Weird drops, Yungblud dropped his favorite song of his new record.

“Mars” is probably one of the most important songs Yungblud ever made because the song is dedicated to all the underdogs and everyone who struggles with depressions or self-acceptance. The rock song is an emotional rollercoaster with an empowering message that will resonate with a lot of people.

3. Rina Sawayama — LUCID

While touring is still not possible, Rina Sawayama decided to release even more music to keep her fans happy. The British-Japanese singer released her incredible first LP in April and wants to give the record a second life by releasing a deluxe edition on December 4th.

“LUCID” is the first song of SAWAYAMA Deluxe and is produced by BloodPop, who’s known for being the producer of Gaga’s top-notch album Chromatica. “LUCID” sounds a lot like “Rain On Me” and is a true gift for all the gays thanks to the catchy hooks after every chorus.

4. AMA — Facts

AMA further discovers her pop-side on “Facts”, an infectious track with very interesting production. The West London-based singer was already featured by Vogue and i-D and belongs to the contenders to become one of the rising stars of 2021 with her new EP due early next year.

“Facts” is about getting out of your funk, facing the harsh truth head-on, and auctioning that. The song is truly unique with its industrial electro sounds and uplifting vocal lines. We don’t have a glass sphere but we just feel that AMA is about to get big… that’s a fact!

5. Magsy — COUNT ON U

Almost every singer or musician dreams of living in Los Angeles or at least record some songs in the city of angels. One of them is Magsy, a brand new pop star with a golden voice and some big plans in mind.

We didn’t know him before but “COUNT ON U” is an amazing introduction and has the potential to become a massive hit. Magsy’s debut will charm fans of Lauv, Connan Gray, and FINNEAS and definitely puts him on the map as an aspiring pop act.

6. SKIA — Feeling Fine

SKIA had a pretty successful year so far with the release of her debut EP Apricot in May and her compelling single “Pocket“. The Norwegian singer is, in our opinion, further proof why we adore Scandi-pop so much and always gets us happy when we’re in a bad mood.

Luckily, her new single “Feeling Fine” does justice to its name and is a real feel-good song with an uncomplicated production and a chorus you know by heart after the first time you hear it. “Feeling Fine” is straight-forward pop that just spreads joy and happiness, something we all need when we feel down.

7. Morane — Bad Habit

Morane completed her three songs counting project CDR at the end of August with “We Good/Read My Mind” but already sets her mind on her new project TO GET HER. The concept is based on the metaphor of a video game where you need to get through three different levels to win. And the first level has been unlocked today.

Together with her producer ANDERS, the singer succeeds in creating an addictive R&B song with a dreamy vibe. The song is a perfect follow-up to her first three songs and is underlining the growth of her as an artist. Morane levels up and goes for a high score!

8. Sevens — Paris

We’re 100% sure that we’re not the only ones that dream of returning to the city of love: Paris. The upcoming singer Sevens captures the romantic flair of the French capital in his new song “Paris” and let us melt away with his adorable husky vocals.

The intimate feel-good song was written during the first lockdown and shows us the lovely jazzy side of Sevens. While being forced to stay inside, the singer dreamt of everything that seemed so unreal for a while. Don’t we all dream of living a lavish life in Paris?

9. Felicia — Circles

We’re always curious to discover new talents, and Felicia has stolen our heart right away with her first release “Circles”. The 22-year-old singer from Brussels started writing music when she was 15 and is inspired by acts like Jorja Smith, Mahalia, or Col3trane.

“Circles” is an adorable song that goes straight to your soul,  heart, and even beyond. The break-up song is a wonderful blend of lo-fi R&B and soul, which makes her voice stand out even more. This girl has got a captivating voice and will, hopefully, release more songs soon.

10. Kaky — Lundi matin

Is there anything worse than a Monday morning? Probably not and that’s why Kaky decided to turn a Monday morning into something light and fun. The uptempo mix of lo-fi beats and snappy punchlines work very well and make you forget about the good old Monday morning blues.

The video for “Lundi matin” was shot in the metro of Paris and features some hilarious masks. Kaky wants to be taken seriously, but the main focus of the singer is creating something entertaining and fun. We like his fresh sound, and we’re sure “Lundi matin” will boost our mood next Monday…
